June 9th, 2017 | Mount Pleasant, Iowa
Kara and Jacob’s wedding day in early June was bright, warm, not crazy humid (what, is this Iowa?) and above all, happy.
Through getting to know this couple over the past year I knew that the most important things to them on their wedding day were family and friends having fun and lots of photos of that happening which is why their gallery is a candid mess of life and love--totally my language!
Kara’s details and bridal style were unbelievably on point—no surprise, since she works at a local bridal boutique. The wedding was accented with navy, bright pops of pink and magenta and rose gold which I'm totally in love with this season.
The two wed on family property amongst many happy tears and personal vows, with drinks following at the place they met, The Pressbox Bar and Grill before exploring Mount Pleasant for portraits and oh yeah, getting some ice cream from Jacob’s family business! We ended the day at the Union Block for heartfelt speeches, good food and dancing, dancing, dancing. Kara and Jacob are just the nicest, sweetest people you could ever meet and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t tear up a few times during their day—seeing their love for each other and family was just overwhelmingly touching. Not only was their day emotional, it was fun as all weddings should be. So congratulations again to Mr. + Mrs. Herman and enjoy!
