INDIANAPOLIS WEDDING AT THE INDUSTRIAL TINKER HOUSE
Brandon and Shelby are some of the absolute coolest people I’ve ever met and I feel so lucky that I get to call people like this my tribe! They also happened to have had the most badass, cocktail style evening wedding at the Tinker House in Indianapolis. Let me tell you all about it.
When I first connected with Shelby in the early stages of booking and planning, she told me they wanted a wedding that was THEM—set up more like a fun, dinner party with a live band full of dancing and mingling than a more stuffy or traditional formula. I said YEAH, PLEASE, I AM THERE!
After struggling to find just the right industrial and modern venue for them, Brandon and Shelby discovered the Tinker House in Indianapolis, with a beautiful and chic space upstairs and an unbeatable view of downtown from it’s balcony. This was my first time photographing a wedding in Indianapolis and it certainly won’t be my last! I can’t tell you how much I loved this unique, chill day, from the small wedding party size to the chic industrial vibe, it was so purely Brandon and Shelby.
Christine Kingery Events coordinated this lovely day, from the night time ceremony with it’s champagne toast to wrangling the adorable and unruly flower girl and ring bearer and setting up a dessert table that I 100% raided.
Highlights of the day for me personally included an emotional first look, making time for sunset portraits and getting to use a black smoke bomb for portraits (y’all know I love my smoke bombs). If you want your guests to really cut loose and party there’s no better way than booking a live band and My Yellow Rickshaw absolutely killed it, from romantic ceremony music to busting out remixed dance classics. I was also able to steal Brandon and Shelby away for night portraits which is something I think EVERYONE should make time for on their wedding day!
Thank you Brandon and Shelby for trusting me with your lovely day. It only gets better from here ❤️
XO,
Mel
